Mr. Stoney’s celebrity clients include Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award-winning artists. His students have collectively won an EGOT. Notably, Justin worked with Tony Shalhoub in preparation for his Tony Award-winning performance in The Band’s Visit.
Justin’s pop/rock/R&B clients have reached #1 on Billboard Charts, have had international radio airplay, and have signed with major record labels including Universal, RCA, Sony, EMI, and Disney Records. His clients include recording artists, bands, celebrities, and singer/songwriters who have toured in the US and internationally. Contemporary artists have also appeared as finalists on The Voice, American Idol, and X-Factor after working with Justin.
Mr. Stoney’s theatre clients have appeared in leading and ensemble roles in nearly every Broadway musical in the last decade. NYVC Voice Teacher Training & Certification
Mr. Stoney is devoted not just to training singers, but also to training and mentoring other Voice Teachers. The NYVC Voice Teacher Training & Certification Program, which Mr. Stoney developed, is helping aspiring and experienced Voice Teachers from around the world to reach their fullest potential as pedagogues and teachers of singing.
Throughout Justin’s teaching career, he has taught over 20,000 voice lessons to a singers of diverse backgrounds, levels, styles, ethnicities, nationalities, and ages. This offers him both the unique perspective and the strong passion for inspiring other Voice Teachers. Hundreds of Voice Teachers from over 30 countries have become alumni of the NYVC Voice Teacher Training & Certification under Mr. Stoney’s tutelage.
Graduates of the program include voice teachers, vocal coaches, researchers, music directors, speech language pathologists, performers, composers, and recording studio engineers. Many graduates of the NYVC Voice Teacher Training & Certification have gone on to develop successful vocal studios and practices across the US and internationally.

Mr. Stoney is a member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing), PAVA (Pan American Vocology Associaton), Vocology in Practice, VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainer’s Association), The Voice Foundation, Actors Equity, and SAG-AFTRA. He is recognized as a Distinguished Voice Professional with NYSTA (New York Singing Teachers Association) and served for 8 years on their Board of Directors. He is also certified in Yoga with a strong background in anatomy, Alexander Technique, and physical fitness.
Justin collaborates with leading voice doctors and laryngologists to help bridge the gap between vocal pedagogy and voice medicine through New York Vocal Coaching’s relationship with Columbia University’s Voice and Swallowing Institute. Mr. Stoney and the staff of New York Vocal Coaching also collaborate with leading vocal research institutes to participate in cutting edge research on vocal science, pedagogy, and technology.
Justin and New York Vocal Coaching also hold relationships with several agents, managers, and casting directors in New York City and Los Angeles. NYVC receives numerous inquiries from record companies, TV/Film producers, theatre producers, casting agents, and music groups and bands seeking to audition new talent in New York and Los Angeles. Justin and the New York Vocal Coaching staff often assist students by providing industry counsel, as well as access to industry opportunities when appropriate.
Education & Training
Justin holds a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance and a BA in English from the University of Michigan, where he graduated at the top of his class and also was elected University Commencement Speaker. Justin studied classical vocal technique with veterans of the Metropolitan Opera, Musical Theatre vocal technique with veterans of Broadway, and contemporary vocal technique with industry-leading Pop/Rock/R&B instructors. He also holds ongoing relationships and collaborations with many of the world’s leading vocal pedagogues and researchers. Alongside his vocal training, Justin has extensive formal training in Classical and Jazz piano. An accomplished musician, he plays the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, percussion, and the Irish whistle.
